HENBURY - IRON TYPE IIIAB, 41.6 kg

An amazing Henbury iron meteorite, one of the largest (41.6 kg) known examples in a private collection in the world. This piece was originally in the South Australian Museum collection. It has complete export and trade documents showing museum provenance.

This meteorite exhibits the classic red and orange patina of Henbury meteorites, imparted from the Australian desert over thousands of years. The Henbury craters where this meteorite originated are estimated to be around 4700 years old. A truly beautifully shaped and sculpted specimen with regmaglypts covering the surface.
